Valencia Ballroom Renovations

As the MEP/FP Engineer of Record, SGM provided design and CA services for the renovation and modernization of the West Building Valencia Room at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. ­ The Valencia Room is used for dining and as a general session venue which consists of approximately 62,000 square feet of carpeted multi-purpose rooms, which subdivides into three (3) main sections of 20,000 square feet, accommodating up to 6,000 people.

Th­ e scope of the project was to upgrade the Valencia Room to include new HVAC, state-of-the-art lighting, electrical, fire protection, audio, and finishes. MEP interior upgrades included:

• New air handler units, new controls & 18-degree coils
• New lighting fixtures and electrical devices
• Fire alarm, security and camera system modifications
• Rainwater drainage system, pipe insulation, and pipe hangars
• Modification of the existing fire sprinkler system
• This was a fast-track project and the design was completed in less than 90 days.
