OCPS Magic Way Fuel Station & Service Complex

SGM Engineering provided engineering design and construction administration services for the Magic Way Fuel Station at Orange County Public Schools. This project was a renovation to an existing fuel station. This facility is vital in providing fuel for the transportation of OCPS Students as well as Maintenance and Management Personnel. This facility stayed in operation during the entire renovation which consisted of the removal and disposal of four existing underground fuel storage tanks, the installation of one new above ground 20,000 gallon diesel tank and two above ground 12,000 gallon unleaded tanks. In addition, existing fuel islands were modified to accommodate the new dispensers, a new electrical panel was added, and the lighting at the fuel station was changed out to explosion proof fixtures.

The system is now capable of monitoring the quantities delivered to District’s vehicle and any safety alarms associated with the tanks, pumps, fuel dispensers and electrical distribution system.
The drawings were reviewed and approved by local building code officials for construction permit. SGM assisted the owner in:

  • Preparing as build
  • Close out / Owner’s manual
