Broward College Downtown Campus Building 33 Chiller Plant
SGM provided MEP services for Broward College Building 33 Chiller Plant. Scope included the installation of AHU’s, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, and Controls. The build out was designed in compliance with the High Wind Velocity Zone (HWVZ) requirements of the Florida Building code for wind load of the cooling towers.
This project consisted of 3 large facilities with a chiller plant located in one of the 3 large facilities. The chiller plant was servicing chilled water to all 3 facilities. The chiller plant was located inside one of the facilities that was to be demoed (2 of 3 building were to be demoed) therefore the remaining facility was to have a dedicated chiller plant and recruiter for continuing utilities,
ensuring occupied times with no interruption at any time of utility support. Very specific considerations were made for temporary utilities and a very elaborate temporary utility plan was provided.
