Osceola County School for the Arts Remodel and Addition

SGM provided Plumbing, Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems design services for a major renovation and expansion at the Osceola County School for the Arts (OCSA) campus. Building on the transformation of the former Tupperware Auditorium and Convention Center, the project further establishes the campus as a premier destination for performance, production, and creative expression.

The scope prioritized upgrades to key performing arts venues, including modernization of the main theater and black box theater with advanced audiovisual systems, theatrical lighting, rigging, and acoustical improvements. Back-of-house spaces such as costume design, scene shops, rehearsal areas, and production support spaces were enhanced to support high-level performances and student training.

Additional improvements included new and renovated spaces for music, dance, and theater programs, including band, orchestra, choral rooms, dance studios, and specialized arts spaces. While the project includes a new three-story academic building and supporting campus upgrades, the overall design is centered on creating an integrated performing arts environment supported by a new central energy plant and high-performance MEP/FP systems.

The project emphasizes system reliability, acoustic performance, energy efficiency, and the unique technical requirements of performing arts facilities, supporting both daily instruction and professional-level productions.
