West Brickell Middle School

SGM provided Mechanical Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering and Construction Administration for the New State-of-the-Art West Brickell Middle School, a mixed-use project. SGM provided MEP coordination and design for the deep foundation to coordinate underground utility around the system; electrical design per ITV Specification update; and added residential cameras for security.
The middle school is a multi-story building that will house grades 6-8 and will have a 632-student station capacity. This mixed-use facility project incorporates an integrated affordable housing element for teachers while being a highly efficient and cost effective 21st Century Public School. Design is complete and construction is currently at 50% scheduled to be completed in 2023.
Additionally at West Brickell Middle School, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) is projected to receive standard rebates for energy efficiency, since the building is solar ready and highly efficient it will provide significant energy and operational savings.
